The office space units available for rent at Apsley Paper Trail in Hemel Hempstead, support the charity in its conservation and education programmes.There are a total of 32 offices for rent across two separate historic buildings. The first is the Apsley Mills Cottage, consisting of 14 office units. The other building is the John Dickinson Enterprise Centre (JDEC) with 18 office units (more info below). Both buildings offer business space for rent for larger organisations up to 12-13 staff as well as small business office space for 1 or more people.

All of our office space rentals are unfurnished. Rental fees are all-inclusive of costs – you only need to pay for telephone, furnishing and contents insurance.  Our rentals come fully serviced with free parking and flexible rolling monthly contracts.

John Dickinson Enterprise Centre

The John Dickinson Enterprise Centre (JDEC) on The Paper Trail’s Apsley Mills site is a purpose-designed office space refurbishment for start-up and small business users.The building was originally built as a single-story extension to the John Dickinson Stationery Company’s Bookbinding Department in the early years of the last century. In 1919 a further two storeys with stair and lift access were added to the building for use in cabinet making. Subsequently, the building was used for many different purposes including that of the Print Works, a canteen and even the Wages Office.During the first 6 months of 2003 the Apsley Paper Trail, supported by funding from EEDA (the East of England Development Agency), undertook the renovation and refurbishment of the building as an ‘office for rent’ centre for start-up and small businesses. The John Dickinson Enterprise Centre (JDEC) formally opened its doors to tenants in August 2003.
