A session of pure papermaking with our experts. Gain an in depth experience of papermaking, learn about the history, the artisan skills, the raw materials and equipment necessary. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions and explore your own interests in paper.
You will make hand made sheets in the full size vat, which will be packed and posted to you once dried; a process that takes 2-3 days.
The session will also include a focussed tour to reinforce your understanding of paper.
Hands On Papermaking run in the warmer months when production schedules permit.
Wear practical clothing and sensible non slip shoes. You will get splashes of water and pulp. Also bring a packed lunch if you wish to have one. Our cafe serves drinks and snacks only; no sandwiches or hot meals.
